Vicar: Becky Stephens
Hi, I'm Becky. I was licensed as Vicar of St Peter's on 1st April 2020. It was a strange licensing as we were in lockdown due to the coronavirus so the service took place on Zoom. The picture on the left was taken just after the Zoom service.
Before my ordination in 2014, I was a secondary school teacher. I taught maths in both Small Heath School and King Edward VI High School for Girls. After having my children, Kate and Harry, I chose to remain at home with them. It was once Kate and Harry were old enough to begin Pre School that I felt God was calling me to ordination.
I'm married to Nigel. As a family we have quite a selection of pets; a dog, 2 cats and 3 rabbits along with the newts we now have in the Vicarage pond. Nigel and I lived in Sutton Coldfield when we were first married so it's a joy to be back in a familiar area.
I have another role in the Diocese of Birmingham as the Bishop's Adviser in Women's Ministry. This is a role I am passionate about and enjoy serving the diocese, Bishop and the women clergy of Birmingham.
Assistant Curate: Emily R-Scott
Hi, I'm Emily.
I was ordained deacon in June 2021 and began my ministry at St Peter's at the beginning of July 2021. Prior to following my call into ordained ministry, I used to work with horses and as a chiropractor. In July 2022 I was priested at Birmingham Cathedral.
